AI in the arts is more interesting as a material than a shortcut

This is a test post for the new blog system. It uses the same overall structure as the dissertation page: a generous centred column, YZE typography and simple long-form text that can be updated without a build process.

The angle I want to explore is simple: AI becomes more useful to creative practice when it is treated as a material to understand, shape and critique, rather than only a shortcut for faster production.

Notes to develop

.bullet What speakers said that changed or clarified my thinking.
.bullet How the event connects to ComfyUI, local AI workflows, interfaces or generative systems.
.bullet What designers need to understand technically to use these tools with judgement.
.bullet One practical experiment I want to build next.
